The Wayfarers Arcade

The Wayfarers Arcade project involved the removal of an existing asphalt concrete floor and the installation of a new 400x400x18mm terrazzo floor, to a grade II listed shopping arcade. Employed by the client Lord Street Properties as the principal contractor Andrews were responsible for the preparation of the construction phase health and safety plan and ensuring the project complied to the Considerate Contractors Scheme, prior to the project commencing. As a subcontractor this was the first project undertaken as a main contractor on a complex project which remained live to the public.
The tiles were imported from our suppliers and bedded on adhesive prior to being flood grouted and finished to a 120-grit finish. Precast features were manufactured in our Leeds facility and installed on site by our operatives to form a complex compass and entrance logo.
The project was completed on budget and programme transforming the dated arcade flooring, to the unanimous praise of the Client and tenants.
