THE busiest toilets in London had a £4 million
revamp and we've been heavily involved with the manufacture
of bespoke pre-cast terrazzo basins and skirtings for them.
Andrews Tiles manufactured the trough-style
sink basins and coved skirtings for Victoria Station on behalf of one of our
regular customers, DMC Contracts Ltd, who are based in Tilbury, Essex.
The overhauled male and female loos have
been furnished with high-quality materials and state-of-the-art plumbing
systems “to help manage the demands of the 80m passengers who use the station
every year”, according to Network Rail.
All the basins and skirtings were manufactured
at our facility in Meanwood Road, Leeds, using our bespoke mouldings before
being hand-ground and polished by our skilled operatives.
Victoria handles more than 80 million
passengers per year, and a whopping 170m if you include the Underground, being
beaten only by Waterloo.
