29/06/2008 - Trinity Square Nottingham

A.Andrews and Sons were employed by Shepherd Construction to fix 300m2 of 48x48mm blue colour mix glass mosaic to the showpiece central tower of the brand new Trinity Square development in Nottingham City Centre.
Shepherds cast the insitu concrete column in several pieces from which Andrews established the correct radii and sweep of the finished tiling. We then carried out a shot blast and built out the concrete in several layers of render to form the required background for tiling.
Glass mosaic sheets were imported from China on a 14 week delivery period and fixed using Mapei Adesilex P10 adhesive. After carrying out samples of various coloured grouts, Mapei Space Blue was chosen as it best complimented the coloured mix of the glass mosaics.
Despite extensive preparation works including the application of render up to 50mm thick in several coats, the works were completed on time, the scaffold was then dropped and the building un-veiled to the public below.
