Manufacturing

Manufacturing at A. Andrews and Sons is split into two parts; precast terrazzo and marble/granite - and products are turned out for the company's own contracting division and for other major contractors and clients in the UK. Raw materials are sourced mainly from Spain and Italy.

While walls and floors are the main focus, it doesn't stop there. A. Andrews and Sons products also go into fireplaces, petrol pump islands, staircases, cubicle partitions, benches, table tops, column units and sink units.

Marble

Our marble shop is equipped with the most up to date machinery including two automatic Terzago saws. As marble and granite is worked from slab form in our own shop our highly skilled craftsmen are able to offer a fast and efficient service. Our experienced staff are able to advise on the suitability of the various types of marble and granite along with all aspects of design and fixing. Our draughtsmen is also available to carry out site surveys and produce working drawings.

Tiles

Our tiles are used throughout the country and we supply a large number for domestic and commercial facilities such as kitchens and swimming pools. Andrews was responsible for the creation of the Ponds Forge International Swimming Pool in Sheffield (Used for the World Student Games).

Ceramics

Carefully selected and installed, ceramic tiles will provide a beautifully decorative and low maintainence finish to a variety of situations. Our extensive showrooms of dedicated displays allow you to explore the versitility and design potential of our vast range of ceramic, terracotta, polished and tumbled marble, limestone and natural slate tiles.

Terrazzo

Terrazzo is a highly versatile material that can be applied to surfaces such as floors, or moulded into almost any shape. It is used throughout the world for areas such as train stations, airports and shopping malls due to its lasting durability. Terrazzo was developed in Friuli in the North East of Italy, where the local residents used the pebbles from a nearby river to pave areas surrounding their homes. Although this produced an uneven surface, a method was eventualy realised to smooth it down. Over hundreds of years this technique has been used for covering floors, which make this material the only choice for well trafficked areas.

Granite

Granite is an ideal material for use on worksurfaces with its high resistance to staining and other damage. Our craftsmen will create accurate manufactured worktops which are extremely easy to maintain and add a beautiful finishing touch. Enhancing your new kitchen or transforming the exising, Andrews natural granite worktops offer the perfect solution to creating that final touch of lasting luxury. Our bespoke manufacturing service provides an extensive choice of colours, styles and finishes, tailor made to complement any situation and add value to your home.

Precast Terrazzo

One form of Terrazzo. We manufacture Terrazzo units for most purposes. We contract out to various major contractors and clients. An example of our Precast Terrazzo can be found at the Magistrates Courts in Leeds.
