ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
In accordance with The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and Environmental Act 1995 this company is committed to meeting the needs of our customers in an environmentally sound and sustainable manner by continuous improvement in the environment performance of our activities, products and services.
We have adopted the following objectives:-
- Identify and evaluate the environment aspects, set targets for improvement and timetables for their achievement. We will also work with suppliers and customers to achieve improvements throughout the supply chain.
- Aim to address the life-cycle impact of selected products so as to minimise the environmental impact, whilst retaining product performance, quality and safety.
- Comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations, and other stated commitments. Moreover, we will seek "best practice" by appropriate benchmarking and networking.
- Seek the prevention of pollution from our activities and services, following the Control of Industrial Air Pollution (Registration of Works) Regulations 1989 and The Health & Safety (Emissions into the Atmosphere) Regulations 1983 and 1989.
- Follow a waste management programme that uses a preferential sequence of elimination, reduction, re-use, recycle and disposal.
- Operate an energy efficient programme and follow the requirements of the Department of the Environment's Declaration of Commitment to energy management.
- Use education and training programmes to ensure that all employees are aware of their roles and responsibilities, and have environmental awareness and appropriate competencies.
- In conjunction with safety and quality systems, the environmental management system will be central to our business.
- Maintain a strategy for external communications that includes making this policy publicly available.
