CODE OF CONDUCT
The aim of our company is to uphold our reputation, built over the past 118 years, for acting responsibly and with integrity in the industry in which we operate. It aims to provide defect free goods and services to its customers on time and within budget.
The management is committed to:
- The enhancement of customer satisfaction
- Continually developing and improving the effectiveness of its Management Systems
- Ensuring that customer needs and expectations are determined and fulfilled with the aim of achieving customer satisfaction
- Stressing to its employees the importance to meet customers needs and requirements
- Promoting Quality throughout all aspects of its business
- Ensuring the availability of resources to achieve its goals.
The companies' directors require that all its employees conduct themselves to the very highest standards with regard to both professional and ethical matters. These standards are also expected from all sub-contractors working for, and representing, the company. Every employee is expected to conduct himself or herself in line with the Code without exception.
Regarding Customers
- Treat customers fairly and honestly
- Provide high standards of service
- Deal efficiently and effectively in relation to customer complaints and adapt processes to minimise similar complaints in the future
- Aim to deal with customer telephone calls and/or enquires as quickly and professionally as possible
- Maintain customer confidentiality
- Undertake any contract with the objective of satisfying the requirements of the employer and co-operate diligently with all parties in the procurement process
- Not make spurious claims for additional payment or time
- Make concerted efforts to raise and submit monthly valuations on time
Regarding Suppliers/Sub-Contractors
- Maintain high levels of integrity in relationships with our suppliers/sub-contractors
- Proactively encourage the use of suppliers/sub-contractors whose values and standards are at least equivalent to ours
- Work with suppliers/sub-contractors to improve performance and regularly monitor performance taking immediate and thorough action where ethical performance comes into question
- Agree terms of payment when ordering goods/services and strive to pay in accordance with those terms
Dealing with Competitors
- Conduct business in accordance with our Code of Conduct yet compete both vigorously and honestly
- Avoid disclosing confidential information
- Not maliciously or recklessly injure or attempt to injure the reputation of another party
Employees Should
- Be intolerant of discrimination, harassment or victimisation and encourage the involvement of all employees to promote a favourable working environment
- Make efforts to provide a clean, safe working environment and stress the obligations of all employees to take every reasonable precaution to avoid injury to colleagues, other companies employees and members of the public
- Maintain a constant interest in Health & Safety matters applicable to the Company's activities including, but by no means limiting itself to, carrying our Risk Assessments, preparing Method Statements and COSHH Assessments as well as promoting safe systems of work
- Avoid conflict of interest and/or the acceptance of gifts and bribes to secure or retain work
- Promote teamwork and individual responsibility
- Recognise the need for profitability to ensure a vibrant and sustainable company that results in job security and future prospects of the individual
- Recognise the need to work to budget constraints while achieving targets but not at the detriment of quality
- Make strenuous efforts to finalise accounts and secure regular monthly payments
- Promote diligently the use of best practise using the companies extensive knowledge and experience of the industry
- Avoid the use of harmful products or processes
- Not allow themselves to be influenced in the execution of their duties by any consideration other than the legitimate and reasonable interests of the respective employer
- Perform their duties in an unbiased and conscientious manner
- Conduct themselves in a manner befitting the role in which they are expected to perform
Andrews have a commitment to invest in its employees to improve their personal and professional growth and understanding and encourages its employees to lead balanced personal and professional lives.
It is the responsibility of each Andrews's employee to promote this Code. Violations of this Code should be reported to superiors. Where serious allegations are concerned fair and comprehensive investigations will be conducted by those closest to the issue. Acts inconsistent with this Code must be promptly corrected and are subject to disciplinary action that can lead to the termination of employment.
Andrews recognises that the above commitment means that Andrews will have to do its utmost to identify ethical, legal, environmental, employment and human right issues and resolve matters consistent with this Code of Conduct.
